I was born in Chico and raised in Palos Verdes Peninsula, California. I came to Utah to attend the University of Utah where I earned two Bachelors of Science degrees in Political Science and Journalism. I was the first woman sportswriter for the Salt Lake Tribune. Later, I changed jobs and worked for Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation where I organized sporting events like Jr. Jazz, t-ball and soccer. I realized early in my career, that I wanted to become a teacher, but at the time the cost was prohibitive. The State later approved an alternative route to teacher licensing. I took several classes, taught in Monument Valley to earn my license and later accepted a job at Glendale Middle. I love teaching and am happy I made the commitment to change careers. I earned my Masters in Public Administration. I am also earning a technology endorsement. I am a life-long learner. I enjoy skiing, snowboarding, riding my bike and hiking.
