I grew up in Fruitland, Idaho before attending the University of Utah. There I graduated with a history teaching degree and a political science teaching minor. My first job was at Fort Herriman Middle School (2005-2010) as a 7th grade Utah Studies teacher. While there, I earned my Master’s in Education from Southern Utah University. I also have a Geography teaching endorsement.
I started teaching here in August 2010 and immediately fell in love with Glendale. The parents really care about their kids’ education and the kids handle being challenged without much complaint (for 12 and 13 year-olds, anyways)! At this school, I teach the most important subjects to these kids’ lives: social studies! Specifically, Utah Studies and US History. It is here that they come to understand Bob Marley’s words: “If you know your history, then you would know where you’re coming from.”
