Our program provides quality programming to students of various needs and interests. We offer homework help in a group setting where students have the opportunity to work together, or work with their group leader and teachers for help. Many of our students also participate in other afterschool groups such as Youth Teaching Youth (YTY), MESA, Science Club, Ukulele Club, Battle of the Books (BOB), Go Girls, Love for Art, Girls on Track (spring), Latinos in Action, and the Pacific Islander Student Association (PISA).
In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in the learning of many cultural songs and dances form countries around the world. Volunteers, staff, or students themselves teach the dances. Later, they will share the dance with our community on Glendale's Multicultural Celebration Night. Please be sure to come out and support Glendale Middle School students during this fantastic event!
Afterschool programing also provides coed sport teams in preparation of high education sports opportunities. Each team will represent Glendale Middle School as they participate in home and away games for the opportunity to win the title of the “School with the Best Sportsmanship” and banner to hang in their school’s gym. Through sports, we strive to educate students on the importance of school involvement, academics, teamwork, social skills, respect, self-esteem, responsibility, and unity.
Moreover, we strive to provide quality programming in a safe learning environment welcome to all, through remaining proactive in community outreach, partnership building, and offering extra-curricular activities that allow our students to learn new skills that guide them toward success, while still catering to the individual needs and interests of our student's.
For family and friends interested in further information, please refer to ALL files including registration forms, calendars, flyers, bus routes, updates, etc. on Glendale's school website, or you may contact Erica, or the main office.
