Dear Glendale Families and Students,
We hope all your summers were filled with joy, fun, and meaningful moments with family and friends! The staff at Glendale is feeling rejuvenated and excited to welcome your child back to school, where they will have opportunities to learn, grow, and lead. We cannot wait to see our halls filled with the energy and enthusiasm of our amazing students!
Here are a few important reminders as we begin the school year:
📌 School Hours
- Students may enter the building starting at 7:30 AM.
- School begins promptly at 8:00 AM.
- We expect all students to be in their advisory class at 8:00 AM ready to start the day.
📌 Schedule Changes
This year we have added more full-day Fridays to give our students additional time for learning. It will be important for families to keep track of which Fridays are regular full days and which are early-out days. We will provide a calendar to help you stay informed.
No more A days/ B days- students will attend the same classes, every day. Some classes are semester-based and may change at semester.
📌 School Expectations
At Glendale, we focus on being Safe, Kind, Respectful, and Responsible. Please remind your student that this includes:
- Treating themselves with respect by trying hard, doing their personal best, and asking for help when needed.
- Remembering that adults at Glendale are here to help — do not hesitate to reach out if we can assist in solving a problem.
📌 Cell Phone Policy
Our school is a Cell Phone-Free Zone from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Why this is important:
- Safety First: Unrestricted phone use can pose security risks as we may not be able to verify who is contacting your child.
- Focus on Learning: Limiting phone use helps students concentrate and engage in their education.
Cell Phone Guidelines:
- Phones must be kept in lockers or silent in bags throughout the school day.
- If you need to contact your child urgently, please call our main office at (801) 974-8319. We will assist in facilitating communication.
